Saturday

Arrival. After a nice cup of tea and a few goodies from the complimentary food basket, prepare to stock up on supplies from the local supermarket and the pretty shops in the picturesque town of Moncoutant. Relax in the private garden with a glass of locally produced wine on the first evening of a fantastic holiday.

Sunday

Sunday closing is still important to the French, so why not take a family picnic to Pescalis (about 5 minutes drive away). The French love to picnic in these beautiful surroundings next to the calming lakes. In the afternoon, take a short drive to the town of Bressurie for the bustling Sunday market with it's locally farmed produce.

Monday

Take a trip down to Le Venice Verte, and enjoy a leisurely time on the maze of waterways this place has to offer. Sample the best crepes in the area in the local
al-fresco restaurants.

Tuesday

Visit Vouvant - a beautiful French village in outstanding countryside in the ‘Le Massif Forestier’. Walk down the narrow streets and along the riverside, taking in the charm of this historic place – and dining in the lovely French cafes and restaurants.

Wednesday

Take the train from Poitiers to Paris for the day. The journey is only an hour and a half, and the French trains are clean and comfortable. The staff will do all they can to make your journey pleasurable. Visit the Eiffel Tower, and cruise on the Siene for a wonderful day out.

Thursday

Relax in the comfort of the gite - sampling the local wines, cheeses and fresh produce – and taking a splash with the kids in the outdoor pool. Take the evening off from cooking, and let your hosts prepare and excellent evening meal for you.

Friday

Take the family to the Puy Du Fou Grand Parc – famous for it's live entertainment in the spectacular main ring. You'll never be short of something to do in this amazing attraction which all the whole family are bound to enjoy!

Saturday

Alas – it's time to return home with many happy memories of a great holiday. There's so much more still to see and do in the area (and to look forward to) in your return journey next year.
